Celebrating Dorothy Arzner, and the cult-classics of the past, present and future. At the very first T A P E Collective screening, Arzner’s 1929 classic THE WILD PARTY was screened, and the party hasn’t stopped since.
Wild girls at a college pay more attention to parties than their classes. But when one party girl, Stella Ames, goes too far at a local bar and lands in trouble, her professor must rescue her. Gossip linking the two escalates until Stella proves that she is decent by shielding an innocent girl and winning the professor's respect. This pre-code comedy was both Arzner’s and Clara Bows first talkie, and where Arzner famously created the first boom mic - in one word; legendary.
