T A P E film collective is holding its debut screening of Dorothy Arzner's THE WILD PARTY on 25th March (Good Friday) from 5pm till late.
We'll be celebrating female trailblazers in cinema as part of Women's History Month at the lovely Lerryn's Cafe in Peckham.
Director Dorothy Arzner was one of the few female heavyweight directors working in the Hollywood studio system in the early-mid 1900s, and lead actress Clara Bow was well-known as the original It Girl.
Prior to the main film, we'll be screening a cool short thriller film, SUSPENSE, co-directed by Lois Weber & Phillips Smalley, featuring a 'Here's Johnny!'-style moment and split-screen way before everyone was doing it.
Free popcorn with your first alcoholic drink, and signature 1920s cocktails will be on offer. Afterwards, stick around for more drinking, merriment & good music.
5PM: Arrive, grab your drink & popcorn and take your seats
5.30PM: 'Suspense' followed by 'The Wild Party'
7PM til late: After-party drinks & music
See you in the dark.
